  • Remix the story as poetry, prose, or visual art
  • Share your work online, in zines, in writing groups, and anywhere it finds an audience
  • Invent your own timelines, relationships, alternate endings, or entire sequels
  • Keep the story alive in your voice, in your words, in your style

You must:

Character and Story Use License (Noncommercial Derivative Works)

Licensor: Andrew R. Brown
Covered Work: Cody Ursula and its characters, settings, and themes

    1. Grant of License.
      The Licensor grants permission to any individual (“Licensee”) to create noncommercial derivative works based on the characters, settings, and story elements from the novel Cody Ursula Brubaker, including but not limited to fanfiction, fan art, scripts, audio adaptations, or other creative expressions (“Derivative Works”).
    2. Conditions of Use

      a. Noncommercial Use Only
      You may not sell, license, monetize, crowdfund, or otherwise commercially exploit any Derivative Work based on Cody Ursula Brubaker. All such use must be free to access and noncommercial.

      b. Attribution Required

      All Derivative Works must include the following credit or equivalent attribution:

      “Based on characters created by And Brown in the novel Cody Ursula. This is an unofficial, noncommercial work.

      c. No Endorsement Implied
      You may not imply that your Derivative Work is official, authorized, or endorsed by the Licensor.

      d. Prohibited Content
      This license does not permit the use of characters or material from Cody Ursula in Derivative Works that:

  • Promote hate speech, racism, sexism, or bigotry
  • Contain graphic or exploitative sexual content
  • Glorify violence, abuse, or harm
  • Violate applicable laws or community standards

    e. No Use of Trademarks or Logos

You may not use any logos, trademarks, or branding associated with the Licensor’s work.

 

    1. Revocation Clause
      The Licensor reserves the right to revoke this license at any time, particularly in cases where Derivative Works violate the terms of this agreement or are deemed harmful, exploitative, or offensive.

Upon revocation, the Licensee must cease distribution and remove the Derivative Work from public access.

 

    1. No Waiver of Copyright
      This license does not waive or transfer any copyright ownership. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

    1. Governing Law
      This license is governed by the laws of Washington, United States.

By creating or sharing a Derivative Work under this license, you agree to be bound by these terms.
